Description

Estudios de Juego is an open-access scholarly journal devoted to the study, design, development and analysis of video games, gamification and interactive technologies. It aims to provide an interdisciplinary space for scientific and applied knowledge, bridging software engineering, HCI, AI, education and social perspectives within game studies and playful culture.

Aim

To disseminate original, rigorous and relevant research that strengthens links between research, innovation and practice around games.

Scope and topics

The journal welcomes contributions including but not limited to: game design (mechanics, narrative), gamification and serious games, software engineering for games, HCI, player analytics, AI in games, VR/AR/MR, UX in interactive systems, evaluation and metrics (e.g. ISO/IEC 25010), and educational, health or social applications.

Evaluation process

Manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review when contribution type and logistics allow. See the review policy for timelines and decisions.

Frequency and languages

Indicative frequency: biannual (two issues per year); special thematic issues may appear. Submissions are mainly in Spanish and English.

Open access and ethics

The journal operates under an open access model. Principles include originality, transparency on conflicts of interest, proper citation and good publication practice.
